Kix Brooks, John Rich and Others Perform at Library of Congress
Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, John Rich, Lorrie Morgan and multiple CMA Award winner Randy Scruggs performed an acoustic concert at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Presented by the Country Music Association, the event was a celebration of country music's contribution to American culture. Several Washington, D.C. dignitaries were on hand for the show, including representatives from Tennessee.
There were a few highlights from the concert. John Rich performed a special request of the Webb Pierce classic "There Stands the Glass" for Librarian of Congress Dr. James H. Billington, who remembered the tune from his days in the U.S. Army. The entire cast and audience also joined in for a sing along on "Will the Circle Be Unbroken." The CMA donated a leather-bound collection of their annual awards show and various TV specials on 40 DVDs as part of the celebration.
